Dating after fifty in the Prairies
February 11, 2026 · 4 min read · By Lianne Tregobov
In Winnipeg, Brandon or Saskatoon, everyone knows someone. That is a gift when you want a reference and a burden when you want privacy.
Clients over fifty often tell us the same thing: they are not short on social life, they are short on appropriate introductions. The colleagues, the church circle and the curling club have all been exhausted.
A matchmaker widens the circle without widening the exposure. Your name goes to one person at a time, and only when there is a genuine reason.
The second thing we hear is a worry about starting over. You are not starting over. You are bringing thirty or forty years of knowing yourself to a conversation with someone who has done the same.
